UNSW and AusIMM to forge closer ties and elevate professional development

We are pleased to announce that leading Australian university UNSW will continue its successful partnership with AusIMM for another four years.

UNSW’s recommitment as Education Partner will strengthen connections between the two organisations and elevate the professional development offered to AusIMM members and resources professionals. The partnership will focus on: sharing the latest research and technology shaping the future of mining; showcasing industry-leading professionals; and supporting highly skilled graduates to further their careers in resources.  

In 2024, UNSW and AusIMM will co-host the following significant events:

UNSW and AusIMM will also collaborate on AusIMM’s Thought Leadership Series, technical webinars, workshops and articles.

AusIMM CEO Stephen Durkin said the two organisations had a strong ongoing relationship based on sharing knowledge for the benefit of professionals and the community. ‘Through this partnership with UNSW, we will continue to work together to promote the latest industry research, best practice techniques and cutting-edge technologies.’

Prof Julien Epps, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, said UNSW is delighted to renew its partnership with AusIMM, reinforcing its role as an Education Partner for another four years.

‘This alliance will enhance development opportunities for AusIMM members and resource professionals by integrating cutting-edge research and technological advances in mining. Prominent events underscore the cooperative essence of this partnership.

‘Furthermore, joint initiatives in the Thought Leadership Series and educational programs will continue to merge academic insights with industry practices.
