The Use and Abuse of Feasibility Studies - Has Anything Changed?

In 2007, the authors presented a framework for the conduct of resource project feasibility studies and provided guidance on minimum standards and best practice (Mackenzie and Cusworth, 2007)._x000D_
This paper will present the authors' observations in relation to feasibility studies undertaken to support investments made during the unprecedented period of resource project capital investment since 2007. It will also provide comments on general trends in the mining industry's approach to project assessment and update recommendations on best practice._x000D_
