2023 marks AusIMM’s fifth year hosting the biggest national event celebrating equality in resources, taking place in five separate cities with five phenomenal keynote speakers.

In celebration of this notable five year milestone, we are giving you five reasons to attend this not-to-be-missed Event Series!

After an extended period of online-only events, AusIMM’s International Women’s Day Event Series is an excellent opportunity to meet a range of people from your industry in real life. AusIMM represents a global community from 110 countries from all different types of roles.

Tap into our network and connect with peers, learn from established professionals, and build your industry relationships in a fun and authentic way. This year there will be fantastic extended networking opportunites prior and post to the celebatory luncheons.

Our Event Series is for all people regardless of gender, to come together and promote greater diversity and inclusion for the resources industry. The presence of allies shows a genuine interest in equity across our industry, making the future of mining safer and more accessible for all.

As a male who has worked in the resources industry for over 20 years, I wanted to be present to reinforce that the journey towards equity, requires all genders to drive and champion awareness to instigate these changes.

As well as looking outward and connecting with new people, AusIMM'S International Women's Day Event Series is the perfect means by which to touch base with your colleagues, learn more about their experiences and strategise how you can increase diversity and inclusion within your own organisation or workplace.

Get started early and join the conversation with AusIMM’s Diversity and Inclusion survey, closing 12 February. In under 10 minutes you can share your experiences of working in the resources sector, and go into the draw to win a AU$500 eGift Pay card. A leading analysis of the survey results will be used to determine key actions required to improve our industry. The vital data will be presented at this year's International Women's Day Series.

Over five events, attendees will hear inspirational addresses from acclaimed keynote speakers. 

Perth - Attendees will hear from Academic, writer and former Iranian hostage, Dr Kylie-Moore Gilbert, as she talks about her 804 days spent in prison and the importance of fostering human connection to overcome adversity.

Sydney - Attendees will hear from Award winning journalist and gender equity advocate, Virginia Haussegger AM, where she will challenge attendees with her thought-provoking address about how we can better use technology and our digital advantage to educate and empower women and girls across the globe.

Melbourne - Attendees will hear from Director, Sir Zelman Cowen Centre, Nyadol Nyuon OAM, who is a vocal advocate for human rights and multicultralism. She will be sharing her incredible personal story and empower attendees. 

Adelaide - Attendees will hear from Author, former Federal MP, and leadership consultant, Julia Banks, as she discuss' how we can use our personal power and navigate our leadership journey towards a positive workplace culture.

Brisbane - Attendees will be on the edge of their seats as they hear from Co-founder of Thankyou™️, Justine Flynn, as she shares her incredible story, deeply inspiring and catalyzing change in the hearts and minds of everyone.

The unique workshop's will offer tangible learning outcomes that promote a pychologically safe culture, gaining helpful tools that can be implented immediatly into your workplace.

Workshop attendees will hear from an incredible lineup of Industry Panelists that will give an in-depth panel discussion around the insights of where our industry is currently at in terms of psychological safety, and what more needs to be done.
